Karen F. Kolodny (B.C.L., LL.B, McGill University), LL.M. (First Class Honors) (Queens’ College, Cambridge University), Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, brings over three decades of leadership at the intersection of law, nonprofit management, and strategic philanthropy.
A Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®), she has guided organizations and philanthropic leaders through transformative growth, governance challenges, and mission-critical decisions.
Karen's career spans roles from law clerk to the Supreme Court of Canada to Executive Director of the JCC of Mid-Westchester, in Scarsdale, NY, where she led a successful $10 million turnaround and navigated the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic.
She has served on the multiple nonprofit boards bringing her expertise in board governance, fundraising, and strategic planning to every engagement.
With law degrees from Cambridge University and McGill University, experience advising organizations from New York to the United Arab Emirates, and Warsaw, certifications in Impact Investing and nonprofit management, Karen combines intellectual rigor with deep empathy for the people and missions she serves. Her work is grounded in a simple belief: that thoughtful, strategic philanthropy has the power to create lasting change—for donors, for organizations, and for the communities they serve.
